Russia To Host 2018 World Cup

FIFA, the world organizing body of soccer around the world, and the organizer of the world's biggest tournament - the World Cup - announced the host countries for both the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.  The United States had put on a full court press for the 2022 event, hoping to bring the tournament back to the U.S. for the first time since 1994.

Announced just minutes to go, FIFA has declared Russia the winners of the 2018 World Cup to loud applause from the Russian contingent.  Russia beat out a group of four countries that included England, Spain/Portugal and Netherlands/Belgium.
