D'Qwell Jackson Might Only Miss 4-8 Weeks

Stay connected for news and updates

According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, it appears as though Cleveland Browns linebacker D’Qwell Jackson did not suffer a season-ending pectoral injury during Tuesday evening’s practice. Instead, Jackson could possibly be ready just in time for the start of the regular season in a best-case scenario:

Browns linebacker D’Qwell Jackson could be back from his right pectoral injury in 4-8 weeks, but he’ll get a second opinion from his New York surgeon, Dr. Frank Cordasco, a league source said.

If Jackson is out only four weeks, he could conceivably be back in time for the season opener Sept. 12 at Tampa Bay. If it’s eight weeks, it could be Oct. 10 against the Falcons.

A more definitive timeline on Jackson could be announced Thursday. In the mean time, linebackers Eric Barton, David Bowens, and Kaluka Maiava are all candidates for increased playing time.
