Please please please please please let this happen. After meeting for more than 15 hours yesterday, the NBA and players are close to a deal that would end the lockout and make a full season possible.â†µ

The players would be willing to move closer to a 50-50 split on basketball-related income (BRI) if they can maintain comparable exceptions to the ones they had in the previous labor agreement – and a luxury tax that doesn’t too punitively discourage big-spending teams from exceeding the salary cap, sources said.â†µ
With the lockout already eating into the regular timetable for the season, there would be a shorter preseason, as teams need to get into training camp, re-sign players and go through the free agency process.â†µ
Thursday could be a make-or-break day for this year, but any progress is good progress, even in the Chutes and Ladders of labor negotiations.
