Ohio Wide Receiver LaVon Brazill Looks to Impress NFL Scouts

It’s bowl season, which is essentially a buffet for NFL scouts. One player who is really looking to impress NFL scouts this bowl season is Ohio’s all-time leading receiver LaVon Brazill, who is not getting the attention he deserves right now.

At 5’10" 192 pounds, Brazill isn’t exactly the physical specimen that you think of in an NFL receiver, but he broke records set by Taylor Price, who was a high pick by the New England Patriots and he has the ability to contribute as the next level because he is a hard worker and determined.

After missing virtually the entire 2010 season with knee and hand injuries, Brazill came back in 2011 with a vengeance and has caught 64 passes for 1,042 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also has a rushing touchdown and is averaging an astounding 16.3 yards per reception this season.

Now, he has a chance on a national stage to show what he can do one last time in his collegiate career, and you can bet the scouts will be watching.

Brazill is a team leader who was named to some All-American teams in 2009 after he caught six touchdown passes and returned three punts for touchdowns, but the injuries really hurt his draft stock.

Thankfully, they didn’t hurt his production, and he faces a Utah State team today that is giving up 28.3 points per game, so he should be able to have a significant impact.

One reason why Brazill has been able to enjoy this kind of success is because of the emergence of quarterback Tyler Tettleton, who has really turned heads in his redshirt sophomore season with 3,086 yards, 26 touchdowns, and only 10 interceptions completing 63.6 percent of his passes.

If Brazill can have a good game and get an invite to the Scouting Combine, he has a chance to get drafted and I think he can make an impact in the league if he keeps on working as hard as he has been.
