The Cleveland Cavaliers evened their record to 1-1 with an impressive 105-89 road win over the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night.
Point guard and top overall draft pick Kyrie Irving bounced back from a rough NBA regular season debut (6 points on 2-12 shooting in a home loss to Toronto) with a strong all around game, finishing with 14 points on 5-9 shooting from the field along with 4 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 steals. Irving, who started, stuck to his game and notably did not take any three-pointers after shooting 1-5 from distance in his debut.
Backup point guard Ramon Sessions actually played more minutes than Irving (28 to 19) and chipped in with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists while Daniel Gibson added 8 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals off the bench.
Cleveland plays another Central Division foe next when they travel to take on the 2-0 Indiana Pacers on Friday night in a game scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. eastern time.
