Indians Masterson Records Four Punchouts In First Two Innings, tied 0-0

Stay connected for news and updates

Indians right-hander Justin Masterson appears to have his best stuff tonight at Safeco Field. He has fooled four of the first six Mariner’s hitters as the Tribe attempts its sixth straight victory. He is getting plenty of swing and misses with his sinker pitch along with his two-seam fastball, and the M’s have had no answer for it thus far.

The Tribe got a pair of hits from Michael Brantley and Orlando Cabrera, but could not get on the board. The red hot Travis Hafner, hitting fifth in manager Manny Acta’s line-up tonight, is 0-for-1. He turned on a Doug Fister four seamer, smacking the ball to straight away center field, but right at Seattle’s Michael Saunders.
