Cleveland Browns Training Camp 2011: D'Qwell Jackson Making Slow but Sure Comeback

According to Tony Grossi of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, there were plenty of Browns players sidelined with injuries in what he’s calling the “dog days” of training camp.

Not among those players was inside linebacker D’Qwell Jackson, who has apparently been really impressive in the new 4-3 scheme:

Middle linebacker D’Qwell Jackson is flourishing in the new 4-3 defense, impressing teammates and coaches. But he’s understandably reserved about declaring himself back after two successive pectoral muscle injuries.

So long as Jackson is back at full strength for the Browns at some point, I think both the coaching staff and the fans will be very pleased. The former second round pick has not played a full season since 2008 when he finished with 154 tackles, two sacks, and three interceptions. He is really an asset to this team when healthy, and the Browns could really use him on a young front seven.
