The Xavier Musketeers won for the third time in a row on Saturday afternoon, easily handling the St. Bonaventure Bonnies 77-64 at Cintas Center in Cincinnati.
The Musketeers came through with a key Atlantic-10 win thanks in part to a strong shooting night from guard Mark Lyons, who made 4-7 three pointers and finished with 21 points and 5 assists.
Xavier led from start-to-finish, holding the Bonnies to 38.5 % shooting from the field.
With the win, Xavier improves to 12-5 overall and 3-1 in conference, while St. Bonaventure dips to 9-7 overall and 2-2 in conference.
Prior to Xavier's current three-game winning streak, they had lost five of six games.
The Musketeers will try to extend their winning streak to four games when they host the 12-5 St. Joseph's Hawks on Wednesday. They will then take to the road for another big game against the 12-5 Dayton Flyers on Jan. 21.
