Ohio State and Cincinnati face cupcake opponents, while various important conference battles will be waged in the MAC.
The Ohio State Buckeyes and Cincinnati Bearcats figure to take it a bit easy this coming Saturday, as both teams will face opponents this week that they should have little trouble defeating. The Buckeyes, fresh off a trouncing of the Nebraska Cornhuskers, will travel to face the Indiana Hoosiers, who gave the Michigan State Spartans a game last week but have struggled in Big Ten play in recent years. That game will be played under the lights -- kick off is at 8 p.m. on the Big Ten Network.
The Bearcats, though, should have it even easier. They'll be hosting the FCS Fordham Rams, who enter the year at 4-2 on the season but with losses to Lehigh and Villanova. FCS teams have beaten their upper-league opponents at various times in the last few years, though, so the No. 21 Bearcats are likely to be on high alert. That game will kick off at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN3.
Over in the MAC, the undefeated Ohio Bobcats are knocking on the door of the AP Top 25, and may be able to sneak into the rankings with a win over the 1-5 Akron Zips (2 p.m., ESPN3). The Toledo Rockets, who are an impressive 5-1 on the season, will travel to face the winless Eastern Michigan Eagles (1 p.m., no TV), while the 4-1 Kent State Golden Flashes will have to deal with the triple option of the Army Black Knights (noon, CBS Sports Network). Finally, the Miami Redhawks will stay in-state as they travel to face the Bowling Green Falcons at 3:30 on ESPN3.
