NBA schedule 2012: Cavs kick off season against Wizards

Eric P. Mull-US PRESSWIRE

The 2012-13 NBA season is getting underway on Tuesday, and the Cleveland Cavaliers are right in the thick of things.

The Cleveland Cavaliers will try to get things started the right way as the 2012-13 NBA season opens at Quicken Loans Arena, when they play host to the Washington Wizards at 7 p.m. ET on Tuesday. That's your first game of the season, and for the Cavs, it's a very important one. The game will be shown on Fox Sports Ohio.

Matchups between the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics as well as between the Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks highlight the league's other games. The Heat and Celtics are scheduled for an 8 p.m. start, while the Lakers and Mavs are set for 10:30 p.m. Both games will be shown on TNT.

Wednesday will see nine games played, though there is not particular marquee matchup that day. Thursday will see the New York Knicks take on the Brooklyn Nets and the Oklahoma City Thunder take on the San Antonio Spurs. For a full look at the schedule, head on over to SI.com.
