Trent Richardson misses practice for the birth of his child

Browns running back Trent Richardson missed Friday's practice while his girlfriend was giving birth to their child.

The Cleveland Plain-Dealer is reporting that Browns running back Trent Richardson was not at practice on Friday as his girlfriend was giving birth to Richardson's third child. The Browns running back already has two young daughters, and his third child is expected to be a boy. Browns head coach Pat Shurmur will address Richardson's absence after Friday's practice ends.

Chris Ogbonnaya filled in with the first team in place of the rookie from Alabama, Ogbonnaya has carried the ball two times for four yards in 2012.

The Browns were also without Mohamed Massaquoi and Travis Benjamin on Friday, both wide receivers have been suffering from hamstring injuries. Tight end Alex Smith was out while recovering from a concussion, while safety Tashaun Gipson was dealing with a knee injury.

The Browns will be heading to New York to face the New York Giants on Sunday afternoon. The game will kick off at 1 p.m. ET and can be seen on CBS.
