The Zips take on reeling Toledo in MAC play as they try to increase their conference lead.

The Akron Zips have the outright lead in the Mid-American Conference, Eastern division or otherwise. Their 6-1 record paces everyone and they also have one of the more impressive overall records at 14-7. They can extend their lead easiest in the games against the weaker MAC-West teams, and have a chance to do so as they play the Toledo Rockets Wednesday night.

Toledo are having a tough go of it this season with a 10-11 record and only two wins in conference. Sophomore Rian Pearson is having a decent year with the Rockets averaging 16 points per game but he's one of the few shining beacons for Toledo in a down season. The Zips being at home will help their cause as well as they have only lost one game at Akron this season, an overtime heartbreaker to VCU.

The game will be at the James A. Rhodes H&PE Building in Akron at 7 PM ET.
