With March Madness on the horizon, the Akron Zips (19-7, 11-1 MAC) are peaking at just the right time. Now they face a major test as they aim for their ninth straight win in a Bracket Buster game against the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles (24-5, 16-1 Summit) at the Mabee Center in Tulsa on Saturday.
The Zips have not lost in a month, having run off eight straight wins since losing to the Buffalo Bulls on Jan. 18. Plus, six of those eight wins have come by double-digits. Meanwhile, the Golden Eagles are just as hot, having won 17 of 18 games, losing just once in the last two months.
Akron has been led by a balanced attack all season, as Zeke Marshall currently leads the team averaging 10.5 points, leading seven players who average 7.0 points. The Golden Eagles are led by a true star in Dominique Morrison, who enters today's game averaging 20.3 points.
The game is scheduled to start at 2:00 p.m. eastern.
