Blackhawks Vs. Blue Jackets: Columbus Loses 6-1 To Chicago

Stay connected for news and updates

The Columbus Blue Jackets (17-35-6), who were crushed 6-1 by the Chicago Blackhawks (31-21-7) at Nationwide Arena in Columbus on Saturday afternoon, have now traded wins and losses for six straight games.

Derrick Brassard gave the Blue Jackets a 1-0 lead just five minutes into the game, but Blackhawks goaltender Corey Crawford saved the next 33 shots by Columbus.

Meanwhile, the Blackhawks finally get to go home, and they will do so with a winning streak as well. In the final game of a nine-game road trip, the Blackhawks scored two goals in each period, with goals by Jonathan Toews, Viktor Stalberg, Patrick Sharp, Patrick Kane, Marcus Kruger, and Sami Lepisto.

The Blue Jackets now fall to 0-5 on the season against the Blackhawks.

Columbus will not have time to dwell on this loss, as they travel to face the New York Rangers (37-14-5), who sit at the top of the Eastern Conference. The game is scheduled to start at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday night.
