The Kent State Golden Flashes (19-8, 9-4 MAC) will hope to avoid something they have so far avoided all season when they take on the Bowling Green Falcons (14-13, 7-6 MAC) at Anderson Arena on Saturday in Bowling Green.

After losing two straight, the Golden Flashes need a win to avoid their first three-game losing streak of the season. They lost two in a row on two different occasions this season, but responded with easy wins both times. Now they are coming off losses to the Charleston Cougars and Miami (OH) RedHawks.

Michael Porrini will need to step up for the Golden Flashes. The senior guard, who averaged 10.1 points last season, has reached double figures in points just once in the last six games, and is shooting 30.9 % from the field in that span.

With just two games remaining including today's contest, the Golden Flashes could still finish anywhere from second place to fifth place in the East division of the Mid-American Conference standings.

The game is scheduled to start today at 6:00 p.m. eastern.
