The Cleveland State Vikings (19-4, 9-2 in Horizon League) remained in their conference's top spot with a convincing 18-point win over the winless-in-the-Horizon Loyola Ramblers (5-17, 0-12).
Cleveland State outscored the Ramblers 26-18 through the first half and then 39-29 in the second half to take home an 18-point win to keep them atop the Horizon standings.
The Vikings shot a red-hot 68-percent and were led by Jeremy Montgomery, who scored 16 points on 5-for-9 shooting. He also added four assists and three steals. Three others added ten points for apiece for the Vikes.
Freshman guard Joe Crisman was the only Rambler in double figures; he scored 14 points. The Ramblers shot 40-percent and 2-for-10 from three-point range. They did, however, outrebound the Vikings and have less turnovers, they just could not prevent the Vikings from scoring.
Cleveland State plays next on Sunday vs. the Illinois-Chicago Flames.
