The Xavier Musketeers (20-11, 10-6 A-10) and the St. Louis Billikens (25-6, 9-7 A-10) complete Saturday's semifinal action at the Atlantic 10 Tournament.
The Musketeers helped their effort to secure a NCAA Tournament at-large bid winning their 20th game of the season by beating Dayton in the quarterfinals. But Xavier can still control their own destiny by beating St. Louis to advance to the A-10 championship game with a chance to land the automatic bid saved for the tournament winner.
St. Louis is suddenly the top remaining seed in the tournament after Massachusetts knocked off No. 1 seed Temple on Friday. The upset at the top of the brackets creates an opportunity for both St. Louis and Xavier to not only win the A-10 championship but also improve their seeding in the NCAA Tournament.
St. Louis swept the season series between the two teams, beating Xavier both at home and on the road. The winner this time will advance to the A-10 championship game to take on the winner of the other semifinal between St. Bonaventure and Massachusetts .
