Stay connected for news and updates

The Xavier Musketeers are just one win away from an Atlantic 10 Tournament title after dispensing of St. Louis 71-64 in the semifinals on Saturday afternoon. The Musketeers shot 53.3% as a team and overcame 12 turnovers to avoid losing to the Billikens for the third time this season.

Polarizing guard Tu Holloway, who was just 1-of-5 shooting at half, exploded after the break to score 15 of his game-high 21 points. Xavier guards Dezmine Wells and Mark Lyons each contributed 18 and 14 points respectively in the win.

Saint Louis, who entered the day as the favorite to win the league, shot a mere 25% (6-for-24) from three-point range despite having five separate players hit double figures in the scoring column.

Xavier is now set to play St. Bonaventure tomorrow at 1:00 pm EST for the Atlantic 10 championship.
