Ohio Bobcats To Face Michigan In NCAA Tournament, Brady Hoke Really Confused

The Ohio Bobcats secured a 2012 NCAA Tournament berth with their dramatic MAC Championship win over Akron on Saturday night. On Sunday, the Bobcats found out they were headed to Nashville as a No. 13 seed to face "that school up north." While Ohio residents have long referred to the Wolverines with Woody Hayes's phrasing, recently, Brady Hoke has somewhat confusingly but insistently referred to Ohio State as only "Ohio." Despite the moniker receiving lots of dissection in the media, no one really knows why Hoke uses the term.

With Michigan now facing the real Ohio, Hoke must be really confused this week. Buckeyes' coach Thad Matta weighed in on the matter:

Via Steve Schrader of the Detroit Free Press:

"That's gonna be really confusing for them. I don't know," Matta said. "Maybe they can borrow whatever uniforms we're not wearing. That is irony at its finest right there."

The Wolverines are favored by 6.5 points over the actual Ohio, with tip scheduled for 7:20 on Friday in Nashville.
