Ohio State's women's basketball team was given a No. 8 seed, they will face No. 9 Florida in Bowling Green and a win will mean a date with No. 1 overall seed, undefeated Baylor.
The Ohio State women's basketball team was not granted any favors by the selection committee for the 2012 NCAA Women's Tournament. The Buckeyes will face a mediocre Florida team in the first round, but a win will grant them a date with the No. 1 overall seed, the undefeated Baylor Bears. The Gators were just 8-8 in the SEC this season, and will have to travel to the Buckeye state for their first round matchup with OSU.
While Jim Foster's club was placed in the same pod as the best team in the country, they do have the good fortune of play their first and potentially second round games in Bowling Green. The Buckeyes had a strong non-confernce season before stumbling a bit in the Big Ten. Their season ended with a 15-point semifinal loss to Nebraska in the Big Ten Tournament. They will have their work cut out for them to get to regionals.
