The Dayton Flyers will be in Iowa City on Tuesday to play the Hawkeyes in the first round of the NIT.

The Dayton Flyers will take on the Iowa Hawkeyes in the first round of the NIT Tournament on Tuesday.

Dayton, a No. 2-seed, has a 20-12 overall record and is coming off a 70-69 loss in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic 10 Tournament to Xavier last Friday.

Iowa, a No. 7-seed, is fresh off a 92-75 loss to Big Ten Tournament champion Michigan State. The Hawkeyes are 17-16 on the season and went 8-10 in conference.

Iowa is led by senior guard Matt Gatens, who was seventh in the Big Ten this season with 15.7 points per game. Gatens played his best ball toward the end of the season, going for at least 20 points in five of the Hawkeyes' final eight games. During a three-game stretch in late-February, Gatens averaged 28.3 points per game and hit 17 of 26 three-point attempts.

The winner of the Dayton-Iowa game will take on the winner of LSU-Oregon.

Tuesday's game tips at 7:30 ET and will air on ESPN.
