The No. 2 seed Ohio State Buckeyes started a little slow, but then methodically seized control to lead the No. 15 seed Loyola (Md.) Greyhounds, 42-30 at the half.

Ohio State attacked the lane to take advantage of their size and athletic ability to draw several trips to the free throw line. The Buckeyes only shot 30% from the floor but they made 15 of 18 free throw attempts which helped build a 15-point lead at one point before the Greyhounds made a late surge to cut the lead to 11at the break.

Deshaun Thomas leads Ohio State with 14 points and six rebounds, while Jared Sullinger added 12 points and six rebounds. Forward Erik Etherly lead Loyola (Md.) with ten points and five rebounds.
