Crew Vs. Impact: Columbus Takes Care Of Montreal 2-0

Stay connected for news and updates

The Columbus Crew picked up their first win of the MLS season on Saturday with a 2-0 victory over the Montreal Impact. An early red card by Impact defender Jeb Brovsky forced Montreal into an immediate disadvantage with only ten men on the field, a liability that quickly proved to be overwhelming for the expansion team.

As expected, the one-man advantage afforded Columbus plenty of scoring opportunities right away, but it wasn't able to break free until a converted penalty shot in the 30th minute by Milovan Mirosevic broke the scoreless tie. The Crew then added a second goal on a header in the 66th minute to pull away, and never allowed the Impact to get anything going at the other end.

Next up, Columbus will suit up to face a winless Toronto FC squad (0-2) on the road.
