The Cleveland Cavaliers received more bad news about rookie guard Kyrie Irving on Wednesday. According to a report from Fox 8 in Cleveland, Irving is likely to miss "significant" time after a follow-up exam on his shoulder at the Cleveland Clinic.
Irving suffered a sprained right shoulder on Friday, March 30, in a loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. He had been listed as day-to-day on the team's injury report. The report from Fox 8 cites sources who claim that Irving may be dealing with a bone bruise. Additional time to rest and heal could allow him to return, but no date has been set for when that might happen.
Irving has been a bright spot for the Cavs this season. He won Rookie of the Month honors for the Eastern Conference for three consecutive months starting in January. Many believe that he is a lock for the NBA Rookie of the Year.

Cleveland Cavaliers rookie Kyrie Irving suffered a sprained right shoulder in Friday night's loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. Despite the injury, he made the trip with the team to New York and was re-evaluated Saturday morning.
According to Tom Withers of the Associated Press, Irving is officially listed as questionable for tonight's game against the Knicks:
#Cavs guard Kyrie Irving questionable for tonight's game against #Knicks with shoulder sprain. Nothng new other than he checked this a.m.

I can't imagine the Cavs letting their star rookie play with there being any possibility of his shoulder sprain getting worse in a lost season, but you have to believe Irving will be doing everything he can to get himself into the lineup.

In Friday night's 121-84 blow out loss to the Milwaukee Bucks Friday, Cleveland Cavaliers rookie guard Kyrie Irving left the game in the fourth quarter with an injury to his right shoulder and never returned. Fearing the worse, Cavs' fans got a bit of good news from Irving and reporters in the post-game.

Re: Knicks tomorrow Kyrie said: "I'm in pain right now. I plan on getting treatment tonight. I'm going to see how I feel in the morning."

Chris Fedor of ESPN Radio's WKNR, also tweeted Irving said the level of pain in his shoulder is nowhere near as bad as when he separated it during his sophomore year of high school.
Not surprising to Cavs' fans, Irving left the blow-out loss while in the midst of a possible 30-point night, which would have been only his second of the season. Instead, Irving had to settled for a 29-point performance.

Rookie guard Kyrie Irving netted a game-high 29 points but it was all for naught Friday, as the rookie guard left a 121-84 rout at the hands of the Milwaukee Bucks early because of a right shoulder sprain. Irving was reportedly injured in the second quarter and was unable to return to help his team, which was gashed by Brandon Jennings' 28 points that helped the Bucks win at Quicken Loans Arena.
Leading 35-26 aft the first quarter, Milwaukee outscored Cleveland 36-18 in the second quarter to widen the margin to 71-44 entering the locker room. The Cavs couldn't rally as they made only six of their 22 3-point attempts and small forward Alonzo Gee was the second-highest scorer with 19 points.
This is only the third time this season the Cavs have given up 120 or more points to an opponent.
Meanwhile, the Bucks made 57-percent of their shots, while receiving 20 points from Ersan Ilyasova.
