MAC Tournament 2012: Kent State Vs. Western Michigan Preview

The 2012 MAC tournament enters quarterfinal play on Thursday night. No. 8 Western Michigan takes on No. 4 Kent State at 7:00 p.m. in the first game of the night.

The Golden Flashes had a bye through the first two rounds of play. Western Michigan is coming off a big win on Wednesday night. Led by a 19-point performance from Mike Douglas, they knocked off Northern Illinois to advance.

During the regular season, Kent State beat Western Michigan by a final score of 78-73 in overtime.

A Kent State win would send them to the semifinals and a tough game against Akron. SB Nation's most recent bracketology prediction has Akron winning the MAC and getting a 14th seed in the East regional. The Golden Flashes lost twice during the regular season to Akron.
