The semifinals of the Mid-American Conference takes place on Friday night in Cleveland, Ohio with No. 4 Kent State taking on No. 1 Akron, followed by No. 3 Ohio vs. No. 2 Buffalo, with the winners advancing to the championship game on Saturday and a ticket to the NCAA Tournament next weekend.
The Golden Flashes got to this point by knocking off the Western Michigan Broncos yesterday, 76-72, behind 23 points from Justin Greene. No. 1 Akron received the unorthodox triple-bye and will be playing in their first game since exactly a week ago when they defeated these very Golden Flashes, 61-55. They beat Kent State back in January, as well.
