The Cleveland Browns 2012 schedule is officially out, after weeks of speculation and furtive NFL measures to keep it under lock-and-key. Some details had trickled out prior to the official release show on NFL Network, but Rich Eisen and company confirmed the full schedule on what has become an unofficial NFL offseason holiday. Last year, the Browns played every single home game on Sundays at 1:00 p.m. ET, and that is once again the case for 2012. Also like last year, the Browns will play in primetime against an AFC North rival, facing the Baltimore Ravens on NFL Network's Thursday night game in Week 4.
For the 13th time in since returning 14 years ago in 1999, the Browns will open at home. They will host the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1. The Browns are still undecided on which direction their headed in next week's NFL Draft, but we're already pretty sure who will go ahead of their No. 4 pick. Cleveland will face the top two picks in the 2012 Season, with likely No. 2 pick Robert Griffin III and the Washington Redskins coming to Cleveland Browns Stadium in Week 15 and the Browns visiting likely No. 1 pick Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts in Week 7.

While we now have official times and dates for each game, we already knew the opponents before the official release. It will be the third-toughest schedule in the league, and the hardest among teams who did not make the playoffs in 2011. Much of that stems from the fact that all three of their AFC North rivals made the playoffs with winning records, but the NFC East will provide three marquee matchups as well.

We're a little over an hour away from the official schedule release for the 2012 NFL season, and already little details are trickling out. According to reports, the Browns will not be opening the season in the division, with the Bengals and Ravens slated to play in the first Monday Night Football game. Joe Reedy of the The Cincinnati Enquirer has the report:
WNST.net and Radio out of Baltimore is reporting that the Ravens will host the Bengals on Monday Night Football to open the regular season.
With the Ravens and Bengals in action, that leaves the Steelers open. But according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Ben Roethlisberger and company will start the season on the road against the Denver Broncos and Peyton Manning.
So the Browns will be playing outside the AFC North to start the year, but we know it won't be against the New York Giants, who play in the season kick-off game on Wednesday, September 5th against the Dallas Cowboys. According to reports, the Browns will travel to New York to face the defending Super Bowl champs for Week 5, which is scheduled for Sunday, October 7th.

Friday the 13th brought some bad luck for the Cleveland Browns, who that day learned they'll have the third-toughest 2012 schedule in the entire league.
Even though the NFL has yet to release the official team schedules -- this will happen Tuesday night at 7 ET -- we already know that the Browns' 2012 docket is rugged.
According to ESPN and NFL.com, the Browns's non-divisional games will be against the
And that's to say nothing of the six division games against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals.
Cleveland's opponents were a combined 135-121 (.575) in 2011. All told, the Browns will have only four games against teams that had a losing record last season.
That much we know. What we don't know is who the Browns will play in which week. Those details will emerge Tuesday.
According to NFL.com, the Ravens will have the fourth-toughest schedule, while the Steelers and Bengals are tied for 14th.
