Originally, Cleveland Indians head coach Manny Acta said that Ubaldo Jimenez was planning to appeal his five-game suspension for plunking Troy Tulowitzki. Jimenez insisted that the pitch simply got away from him, a common way pitchers explain away hit batsmen, but there's history between Jimenez and Tulowitzki that suggests otherwise.
On Saturday, Indians beat writer Jordan Bastian tweeted that Jimenez plans to drop his appeal after his start today:
Acta: Ubaldo will likely drop appeal after start today. Would miss 5 games, but Tribe won't need to call up another starter due to off day.

The Indians starting the season with a 16 inning game probably didn't help the their pitching, either.
