Bubba Watson's victory may have gotten him a lifetime invitation to the Masters in addition to invite to the PGA Championship, British Open, and U.S. Open for the next five years, but his fantastic shot on the second hole of the playoff round earned him a cool $1,440,000. That is a nice chunk of change for a weekend of golf even if he did have to work just a little bit of overtime to get it.
Watson's earning for the weekend totaled $576,000 more than Louis Oosthuizen made, with the rest of the top ten breaking down as follows:
1st: Bubba Watson, $1,440,000
2nd, Louis Oosthuizen $864,000
T-3rd, Lee Westwood, $284,000
T-3rd, Matt Kuchar, $284,000
T-3rd, Peter Hanson, $284,000
T-3rd, Phil Mickelson, $284,000
7th, Ian Poulter, $268,0000
T-8, Adam Scott, $244,000
T-8, Padraig Harrington, $244,000
T-8, Justin Rose, $244,000
In addition to his earnings, Oosthuizen earned a crystal bowl for his double-eagle hole-in-one during the final round.
