The Players Championship 2012 Winner: Matt Kuchar Takes Home Title

Cleveland native Jason Dufner continued to struggle at the Players Championship on Sunday, shooting a three over par 75 to finish +7 for the weekend and in 68th place. He was just two strokes short of tying for last place of the golfers that made the cut to the weekend.

Matt Kuchar took home a $1.71 million prize by finishing 13 under for the weekend, beating a four way tie for second place by Martin Laird, Rickie Fowler, Ben Curtis, and Zach Joihnson. Kuchar shot a two-under 70 on Sunday, holding off a late charge by Laird. the 70 was Kuchar's worst round of the weekend, but it was more than enough for him to hold on to his lead.

2012 Players Championship: Tee Times, Pairings, TV Schedule For Sunday

The Players Championship will wrap up Sunday with leader Kevin Na and Matt Kuchar forming the day's top pairing.

Na is -12 after Saturday's 4-under 68, while Kuchar is -11.

The all-U.S. top five is rounded out by Rickie Frazier (three back), Ben Curtis (five back) and Zach Johnson (five back).

There is a four-way tie for sixth place.

Cleveland native Jason Dufner is 4-over, tied for 64th.

The Golf Channel will begin its coverage at noon ET. At 2:00 p.m., NBC will have live coverage until a winner emerges.

The Players Championship 2012 Leaderboard: Jason Dufner Struggles In Round 3; Ben Curtis Underway

Needing to make a run at the Players Championship leaderboard on Saturday, Cleveland native Jason Dufner did just the opposite shooting a 4-over par, 76, to fall down to the bottom of the standings. Dufner is in a tie for 64th place with a three-day total of 4-over par (220), the leaders Zach Johnson, Kevin Na and Matt Kuchar are all 8-under par and are set to tie off at 2:30 p.m. ET.

Currently, the biggest mover is Sergio Garcia who started the day at even-par and is now 4-under. Garcia is done for the day, but Tigers Woods (1-under par thru 12) is not, however, he isn't making a move. Meanwhile, Phil Mickelson is 3-under (1-under thru 11 holes) and is tied for 24th, while Rickie Folwer is 7-under (4-under thru nine) and is in a tie for fourth.

Ohio native Ben Curtis (-5, T12) has just teed off and is eve-par for the day thru three holes.

Players Championship 2012: Tee Times, Pairings, TV Schedule For Saturday

The third round of the 2012 Players Championship gets off to an early start on Saturday. The first pairing of J.J. Henry and David Hearn is set to tee off at 8:35 a.m. Eastern.

Ohio native son Ben Curtis tees off at 1:40 p.m. (all time Eastern). He will be paired with Bill Haas. The leaders after two rounds tee off last. Matt Kuchar goes at 2:24 p.m. followed by a pairing of Zach Johnson and Kevin Na at 2;35 p.m. Tiger Woods and Keegan Bradley tee off at 11:25 a.m.

Television coverage of the third round starts at Noon on the Golf Channel. At 2 p.m. it switches over to NBC through 7 p.m. Eastern.

2012 Players Championship Scores: Zach Johnson And 2 Others Tied For Lead, Ben Curtis At 5-Under

Ohio's own Ben Curtis finished the second round of the 2012 Players Championship at 5-under on Friday. Curtis is currently in a tie for 10th place. In the top spot, there is a three-way tie between Americans Zach Johnson, Kevin Na and Matt Kuchar, all finished the day at 8-under.

Curtis shot at 71 in the second round, a drop from the 68 he shot in the first round on Thursday. He had a bogey on the eighth, 10th and 11th holes, but finished the round with four birdies on the last seven holes.

Tiger Woods rebounded from a poor first round by shooting a 68 on Friday. Both he and Phil Mickelson finished the day at 2-under.

Rory McIlroy missed the cut line after shooting a 76 in the second round.

2012 Players Championship Leaderboard: Scoring Update Through Round 2

Mid-way through the Second Round of the The Players Championship from TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Verda on Friday, the top three leaders are all American born players. Zach Johnson sits atop the leaderboard with an -8 under par after shooting a 66 on Friday (-6 under par). Harris English and Kevin Na both currently sit a stroke off the lead shooting a -7 under par. English has already finished the day and will enter Saturday on the back of -5 under on Friday, while Na is five holes into his second round (currently at -2 under on the day). Seven players are tied for fourth with a -6 under par.

Cleveland native Jason Dufner currently sits at even par after two rounds and is tied for the 61st position. He is currently projected to make it past the first cut, which is set at even par.

2012 Players Championship: Tee Times, Pairings, TV Schedule For Friday

The second round of The Players Championship tees off from TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra on Friday morning, with plenty of big names trying to chase down the top of the leaderboard. Thursday's first round yielded some atypical low rounds, with a forgiving course setup. Ian Poulter and Martin Laird co-lead after low rounds of 65, lighting up the stadium course with birdies on the back side. Cleveland native Jason Dufner, fresh off his big win in New Orleans, shot a middling round of 73 and is 1-over. A double at No. 5 as he came down the stretch threw his round off even further, putting him in jeopardy of making the cut if he cannot make some noise on Friday. He goes off early at 8:29 a.m. ET with fellow Northeast Ohio favorite Ben Curtis, who's 4-under and just three shots off the lead.

Golf Channel will continue its extended coverage for golf's "5th major." The broadcast will begin at 1:00 p.m. ET and run through 7:00 p.m. ET. The afternoon coverage will certainly feature the power grouping of Rickie Fowler, Tiger Woods, and Hunter Mahan. Woods will spend his second straight Friday afternoon battling the cut line.
