On Monday morning, Comcast Sportsnet Bay Area reporter Matt Steinmetz reported that Team USA's Summer Select roster was set and that Cleveland Cavaliers Rookie of the Year, Kyrie Irving was one of the thirteen players on the final list.
Here is the reported roster according to Steinmetz:
DeMarcus Cousins, Sacramento Kings
Klay Thompson, Golden State Warriors
Kyrie Irving, Cleveland Cavaliers
DeMar DeRozan, Toronto Raptors
Kawhi Leonard, San Antonio Spurs
DeJuan Blair, San Antonio Spurs
Derrick Favors, Utah Jazz
The players invited to this year's camp are individuals that Team USA head coach Mike Krzyzewski and his staff would like to see upclose in order to consider for future Team USA events, such as World Championships and Olympic tournaments.
Irving played for Krzyzewski at Duke during the 2010-11 season prior to being taken with the first overall selection by the Cavs in the 2011 NBA Draft.
