On Sunday, May 20, the 35th annual Cleveland Marathon will be run by many in and around the community. There is a full day of events lined up and it could all be ruined if Mother Nature doesn't cooperate.
Fortunately, it looks like she's going to, for the most part, but it is expected to be a dry and hot one.
According to Weather.com, Sunday's start time is forecasted to be mostly sunny and about 61 degrees with 78-percent humidity. There is only a 10-percent chance of precipitation. By 11 a.m. the humidity will drop to 48-percent, but the temperature is expected to rise to 78 degrees with zero chance of any precipitation like the refreshing spritz runners received last year.
ClevelandMarathon.com says the weather can be unpredictable, though, so be sure to wear layers and shed them as necessary. For what it's worth, the average high on race day is 71 with a low of 51.
The 35th annual Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon will be run on Sunday, May 20, completing a weekend full of events, including also a half, 10k and 5k marathon and kids run. All the fun running will be followed by a 26.3 mile finish line 'rock party', which will include music, food, hydration and a beer garden.
On Saturday, there was a 5k run and a kids run. Those events took place Saturday morning at 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. ET.
