2012 Big Ten Baseball Tournament, Ohio State Vs. Nebraska: Buckeyes Stay Alive With 6-2 Win

On Friday afternoon, the No. 6 seeded Ohio State Buckeyes stayed alive in the 2012 Big Ten Baseball Tournament by defeating the No. 4 seeded Nebraska Cornhuskers by a final score of 6-2. The teams found themselves in the losers bracket, which made the game a do-or-die moment for both teams.

The Buckeyes received a solid performance from their pitching staff as the team relied on four pitchers to hold the Huskers to only two runs. Brian King started for OSU and gave up two earned runs on six hits in six innings of work. From there, Greg Greve, Andrew Armstrong and Josh Dezse held Nebraska to only three hits through the rest of the game.

The team effort didn't end with pitching. Six Ohio State batters finished the game with at least one hit, with four players earning an RBI (catcher Greg Solomon had a game-high two).

Ohio State won't have much time to rest as they will have to play another elimination game at 3:35 pm on Friday when they will face Michigan State.
