Stay connected for news and updates

The Ohio State Buckeyes' baseball season ended on Friday evening with a loss to Michigan State in the Big Ten Baseball Tournament. The Spartans beat the Buckeyes by a final score of 6-2.

Ohio State took a 2-0 lead into the bottom of the fifth inning, but starter Trace Dempsey surrendered two runs at that point, his only runs in four and two thirds innings. The Buckeyes' night went off the rails when reliever Brett McKinney gave up three runs in relief of Dempsey. Catcher Aaron Gretz was 3-for-3 with a walk and an RBI.

After losing to Purdue on Thursday, the Buckeyes kept their tournament hopes alive on Friday with a win over Nebraska. That set up their evening matchup with Michigan State. The Spartans will face the loser of Friday night's game between Purdue and Indiana.
