Ohio State University recruit Alex Anzalone, a four-star recruit, pulled his commitment to the Buckeyes on Friday, May 4. Anzalone's move comes on the heels of a mini-scandal involving a convicted sex offender, Charles Waugh, who took photos with Anzalone and other recruits at the school's spring football game.
Anzalone never revealed his reasons for decommitting from Ohio State, but his father, Sal, said it all in a statement following the news.
"You don't want your son to go to a place where there's a potential issue (like this)," Sal Anzalone said. "You expect the (football) staff to have some sort of control on how things are handled with recruits when they visit. This is ridiculous.
"I was concerned with what recruits do, and with them being allowed to visit these kind of places where it puts kids at risk. That's the issue. You entrust people (at the school) to do the right thing."

Ohio State sent out a notification concerning Waugh's status following the spring game. OSU has little control over who can attend its spring football games, or pose with athletes for pictures.
