2012 NBA Mock Draft: Cavs Select Thomas Robinson, With Brad Beal & Michael Kidd-Gilchrist Off The Board

The dust has settled on the lottery and plenty of NBA experts have weighed in with their mock drafts. With Anthony Davis off the board, Cavs fans generally seem to be hoping for either Bradley Beal or Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. It's also likely that those two will go to the Bobcats and Wizards, which would leave Chris Grant with a decision between Harrison Barnes, Andre Drummond, and Thomas Robinson.

The Cavs could use an upgrade at every position on the floor, save for point guard. This includes an addition at the power forward position, where Grant could choose another prospect to on the heels of last year's No. 4 pick, Tristan Thompson. With Beal and MKG off the board, Matt Moore thinks the Cavs will go that route and select Thomas Robinson of Kansas. Via Matt Moore of CBSSports.com:

With Tristan Thompson raw and not great offensively, Robinson brings a ton of muscle and some scoring ability down low. He and Thompson create a pair of athletic young guys for Irving to run with. Barnes is another option here.

Robinson would certainly add more energy in the paint and on the glass for the Cavaliers, but the ideal scenario still involves either Beal or MKG slipping out of the top three.
