Cavs Draft Rumors: Cleveland Could Move Up To No. 2; High On Jeremy Lamb, According To Report

While the Cavs slipped a spot in Wednesday's lottery, the biggest loser was likely the Charlotte Bobcats. General Manager Rich Cho needed to land a franchise-altering prospect like Anthony Davis in Charlotte after setting a record for the worst winning percentage in NBA history. But now stuck at No. 2, there's plenty of speculation that Charlotte may be amenable to a trade down out of that spot in an effort to stockpile more picks.

One potential trade partner for the Bobcats could be the Cavs, who have four picks in the top 35, including two in the first round. Chad Ford adds to that speculation, writing that the Cavs would love to move up to get a shot at Michael Kidd-Gilchrist or Brad Beal. If they're unable to trade up and remain at No. 4, they will have plenty of decisions to make according to Ford. He seems to think that if either MKG or Beal slide past No. 3, the Cavs will pounce immediately. But if both are gone, they'll likely decide between Harrison Barnes, Andre Drummond, and....Jeremy Lamb? Via Chad Ford of ESPN:

The Cavaliers were really hoping to get either Kidd-Gilchrist or Beal out of this draft. Given our current mock, both players are off the board. We currently have the Cavs grabbing Harrison Barnes at No. 4. The Cavs actually were hoping that Barnes was going to be in the draft last year and sources say they would've grabbed him at No. 4. Do they still love him after a disappointing sophomore season? Are they willing to roll the dice on Drummond instead? I hear Jeremy Lamb isn't out of the question here, either.

Lamb is an intriguing prospect, a lengthy wing with a ton of athleticism and some range. He's been inconsistent through two seasons at Connecticut and like Barnes, had a disappointing sophomore season of his own. It would be taking a gamble on potential at No. 4.
