College World Series 2012: Kent State Falls 8-1 In Opener

After a run through the NCAA Tournament that sent the Kent St. Golden Flashes to the College World Series for the first time the MAC program was one of the darlings of the NCAA Tournament, If that run is going to to continue the Golden Flashes will have to do it the hard way. In the program's first College World Series game the Arkansas Razorbacks were dominant, cruising to an 8-1 victory in Omaha.

Kent State was held to just four hits and managed only a sixth inning run. By that time Arkansas had already scored five times and they blew it open with a three run eighth inning. David Starn was tested, throwing 102 pitches but only lasting five and two thirds innings. Arkansas scored single runs in the first, second, and fifth before touching Starn for two more
