Dan Gilbert has rarely missed an occasion to weigh in via Twitter on the playoff happenings in Miami over the past two years. It's typically a passive-aggressive message, or sometimes a tweet laced with hostility. Many eyes turned to Gilbert on Thursday night after the Heat captured the NBA Championship with their Game 5 win over the Thunder.
↵Contrary to Gilbert's infamous letter, the self-proclaimed chosen one had gotten his ring before the Cavaliers. But the Cavs owner was a bit more understated this time and sent off a reserved note of congratulations to the Heat, without mentioning the 2012 Finals MVP, of course. Via @CavsDan:
↵↵↵Great NBA season. Enjoyedplayoffs. Congratulations to Miami & OKC for an exciting Finals. Back to work on next weeks promising Cavs draft.

↵I'm sure this was painful for Gilbert to type up, and he did it while gritting his teeth, but it was certainly better than any other sort of churlish alternative.
