NBA Draft Rumors: Potential Cavaliers Deal With Bobcats May Never Materialize

One of the bigger draft rumors in the past week or so surrounding the NBA Draft was the possibility of a big trade between the Charlotte Bobcats and Cleveland Cavaliers that would net the Cavs the second overall pick. With plenty of other trades going down in the past few days, it made sense that the Cats and Cavs would be talking about the swap.

After a couple of days with no activity on that front though, it looks like any potential trades might just not be happening with the draft creeping quickly closer.

Part of the reason why the trade had been rumored in the first place was because the Cavs were said to be coveting Florida's Bradley Beal, who they thought would be gone by their fourth overall pick if they just stood pat. Recently, the narrative has changed and the Cavs' focus seems to have shifted to Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, who is considered a top pick but is generally seen as one of the guys who will fall to the fourth overall pick.

If nothing else, they only have until Thursday to make any potential moves so if something is going to be done, it's going to have to be done quickly. Unfortunately, no movement in several days from either side does not bode well for this particular trade rumor.
