2012 NBA Draft Results: Cavs Trade With Mavericks For Tyler Zeller, According To Reports

Stay connected for news and updates

The Dallas Mavericks selected North Carolina center Tyler Zeller with the No. 17 pick in the NBA draft, but according the ESPN's Chad Ford, the Mavericks made that pick for the Cleveland Cavaliers as part of a trade for the remainder of the Cavaliers' 2012 draft picks.

So the Cavaliers will add a solid big man who is ready to play right away with a guard in Dion Waiters who can play alongside Kyrie Irving in the back court. The Mavericks are obviously looking long-term with the acquisition of more picks as they try to fortify an aging roster.
