Indians Vs. Tigers Final Score: Cleveland Moves To 5-0 This Season Over Detroit With 9-6 Win

The Cleveland Indians just don't lose to the Detroit Tigers, at least when it comes to the 2012 season. A season ago, they struggled to pull off an upset win, but they're running the course just fine in 2012. Currently sitting in second place in the AL Central, the Indians are happily ahead of Detroit in that vein (currently third place in the division) and the Tigers aren't doing much to help their position.

Cleveland moved to 5-0 against the Tigers on the season on Wednesday with a complete effort from start to finish. It was an exciting game, with the Tribe walking away with a 9-6 win in the end. Cleveland got the scoring started early in the game - when Michael Brantley hit a homerun to right field, scoring Shin Soo Choo and Carlos Santana to take the 3-0 lead that they would never relinquish.

Detroit started a comeback late in the fifth inning when Quintin Berry doubled to left field scoring Jhonny Peralta. Ramon Santiago grounded out to shortstop which scored Bryan Holaday and Miguel Cabrera went on to score Berry before Prince Fielder brought Cabrera in as well. Still, it was 8-5 after the fifth inning and Asdrubal Cabrera added a ninth run for the Tribe in the sixth to put it away.

Starter Jeanmar Gomez got the win for the Indians, pitching five innings and giving up six runs - four of which came in his final inning. Max Scherzer got the loss for Detroit after giving up eight runs - five earned - in four-plus innings.
