Cleveland Indians general manager Chris Antonetti is openly talking about trading Shin-Soo Choo during the offseason.

The Cleveland Indians have tried to lock outfielder Shin-Soo Choo into long-term deal, but general manager Chris Antonetti is disappointed about the lack of progress on that front and says the team is open to trading the OF during the offseason. This news comes via Jon Heyman of CBS Sports:

Indians general manager Chris Antonetti said they have tried to extend Choo "multiple times'' over the past few years, to no avail. Antonetti was asked how much reception he's gotten to the possibility of a multiyear deal, and the GM answered candidly, "None.''

But Antonetti also pointed out that a trade this winter isn't the only possible outcome, as they could also trade him at the deadline next July or let him leave as a free agent after next season and receive draft choices after making a qualifying offer, which Antonetti indicated they will surely make.

Choo is 30 years old and will be second-year arbitration eligible during the offseason. He has produced a .286/.369/.469 triple-slash batting line over 518 plate appearances so far in 2012.
