Indians Vs. Red Sox: Jason Kipnis Scratched With Neck Stiffness

Stay connected for news and updates

Fresh off a victory on Wednesday, the Cleveland Indians are back to their bad luck as second baseman Jason Kipnis has been scratched from Thursday's game with neck stiffness.

Despite a fast start, Kipnis has struggled recently for the Indians. He is hitting just .193 since the All-Star break and has not hit a home run since June 17.

He has played in all but three of the team's games this season.

Jason Donald is taking his spot in the starting lineup tonight. He was recalled by the team for Thursday's game. In 18 games with the Indians this season, Donald has .188 with four RBI.

It is undetermined how long Kipnis will be out of the lineup.
