The final stage of the 2012 FedEx Cup Playoffs begins on Thursday with round one of The TOUR Championship.

The last stage of the 2012 FedEx Cup Playoffs gets going on Thursday afternoon with the first round of The TOUR Championship from East Lake Country Club in Atlanta, Georgia. Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and others will be vying for one of the largest purses of the PGA season.

McIlroy, having won three of his past four tournaments, is the odds-on favorite to win the FedEx Cup and its $10 million prize this year. Woods and Mickelson have also played well of late, as those two along with McIlroy all finished in the top five at the BMW Championship a couple weeks ago.

Cleveland native Jason Dufner has been fairly quiet so far during the first few events of the FedEx Cup playoffs, but he can still make some noise at East Lake with a good performance.
