Jimmy Haslam Exploring Possibility Of Adding Dome Roof To Cleveland Browns Stadium

In a meeting with the Cleveland City Council on Wednesday, new Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam floated the idea of adding a retractable roof to Browns Stadium sometime in the future. Haslam told the council that he plans on bringing in three architectural groups to Cleveland to examine what would need to be done in order to add a roof to the current stadium.

Haslam also told the council that he has plans to expand the use of the stadium, which was built in 1999 when the franchise was reinvented.

"We are very open-minded," Haslam said. "We want to use that facility as much as we can."

In a development that has been public knowledge for weeks, Haslam also confirmed to the council that he is indeed stepping down as the CEO of Pilot Flying J, the company that made him rich.
