Kent State Vs. Buffalo Final Score: Flashes Put Clamps On Bulls

The Kent State Golden Flashes held the Buffalo Bulls to 265 yards of total offense in a 23-7 victory on Wednesday night. The Bulls, who were coming off a game in which they tallied over 50 points, scored only on a Hail Mary at the end of the first half. The game was otherwise dominated by the Flashes, who move to 2-1 on the season with the win.

Kent State got on the board first in the second quarter when running back Dri Archer rushed for an 11-yard touchdown. That was followed later in the quarter by a Freddy Cortez field goal to put Kent State up 10-0, but Buffalo cut the lead to three when Alex Zordich connected on a 46-yard touchdown to Alex Neutz as time expired.

In the second half, Cortez connected on field goals in the third and fourth quarters to extend Kent State's lead to 16-7. The Flashes iced the game with under a minute remaining when running back Julian Durden scored from two yards out.

On the night, the Flashes ran for 239 yards on 53 carries, with Archer gobbling up 127 yards on 14 carries and Trayion Durham adding 112 yards on 23 carries.

The Flashes will be back on the field next Saturday against the Ball State Cardinals.
