Dion Waiters Working Out In Cleveland, Ready For NBA Debut

Dion Waiters is excited about the prospect of taking the Cleveland Cavaliers to the playoffs and winning the Rookie of the Year Award in 2012.

Cleveland Cavaliers rookie and No. 4 overall selection in the 2012 NBA Draft, Dion Waiters, has big plans for the upcoming season.

In an interview with HoopsWorld.com, Waiters expressed his plans to lead the Cleveland Cavaliers into the playoffs and win the Rookie of the Year Award. The key for Waiters is the potentially dynamic duo of himself and his old friend, Kyrie Irving:

"We're still young and we're still getting better every day. We're building on the bond that we already had. Coming out of high school together, we clicked right away and we were always together. We met in 10th grade and from that day on, we've been close friends. When we get on the court, it's all about how we can make each other better. We're going to push each other."

Waiters did not mince words in regards to his individual goals either:

"Making the playoffs is the biggest thing, but I'm definitely thinking about [winning Rookie of the Year]. I have to put the work in and earn it though."

The shooting guard out of Syracuse University is excited about the potential of the Cavalier team, but he is also pleased at his overall situation. When asked about the city of Cleveland, Waiters said, "I couldn't be in a better place."
