Terry Bowden continues looking for his first win as coach of the Akron Zips when his team takes on the Morgan State Bears on Saturday.
The Akron Zips (0-2) look to earn their first win under head coach Tommy Bowden on Saturday when they host the Morgan State Bears at InfoCision Stadium - Summa Field.
The Zips will try to bounce back from a tough loss on the road last week to Florida International University when a late field goal by the Golden Panthers sent the game into overtime where the Zips came up empty, eventually losing 41-38. Akron quarterback Dalton Williams threw for over 300 yards with five touchdowns, but the Zips' defense gave up 232 yards on the ground to FIU's balanced attack.
Morgan State (1-1) is coming off of a loss, as well after the Bears were run over by Buffalo, 56-34. Morgan State also struggled to stop the run, giving up over 300 yards on the ground in the loss.
Akron leads the series 1-0 after shutting out the Bears 41-0 in their only other meeting in 2009.
The games is scheduled to kickoff at 3:30 p.m. ET and will be shown streaming live on ESPN3.
