Akron is hoping for upset as the Zips visit Tennessee Saturday.
The Akron football team looks to improve to .500 as the Zips travel to Knoxville to take on Tennessee at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The game will be on ESPN3 and Comcast Sports South.
Akron (1-2) is coming off it's first win of the season, beating Morgan State 66-6 last week. The game represented a vast improvement for the Akron defense, which had given up 56 and 41 points in back-to-back losses to open the season.
Tennessee is 2-1 after losing to No. 18 Florida last week. The Vols have been led this season by quarterback Tyler Bray, who is completing 64 percent of his passes for 900 yards, 8 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Justin Hunter and Cordarrelle Patterson give the team a couple of big play receivers in the passing game. They've combined for 534 yards and 5 touchdowns this season.
